Fifty-Four Days

It is fifty-four days before the end of the school year. It is an effort to shift to the old-school calendar, gradually. With the number of learners in each class, kids get sick due to the heat of the summer month.

It is fifty-four days before the guaranteed one-month vacation when educators are not allowed to report at the call of superiors nor be at the school’s premises.

Today was my third class observation for the school year. One to go, and I will have the right to say, let’s rock! I am grateful for God’s wisdom. The master teacher in charge indicated straight sevens (being the highest) for all the indicators. I owe everything to the Lord for giving me strength and perseverance.

It is fifty-four days before I bid goodbyes to the different smiles, tantrums, and joys exhibited by my forty-three learners.

It is a journey full of challenges, little and big triumphs, and learnings.

Then, I can start with my reading sessions and some literary projects.
